The last strip of Western Liguria is renowned for the mildness of its climate: this was well known by the English who, from the second half of the nineteenth century onwards, began choosing Bordighera and Sanremo as their holiday destinations.
This was partly thanks to Giovanni Ruffini, a writer and patriot from Taggia, who lived in exile in Britain and published “Doctor Antonio” in English in 1855. The novel, set on the Riviera, was a huge success at the time and Queen Victoria’s subjects were quick to flock to the area.

The city of San Remo is just over 10 minutes away by car. The location of the house is perfect for exploring the Cote d’Azur and the Ligurian coast and experiencing mediterranian lifestyle.

Ospedaletti is an Italian municipality in the province of Imperia in Liguria located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 23 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Menton (France), 35 kilometres from Monte-Carlo and 51 kilometre from Nice.
Ospedaletti borders the following municipalities: Bordighera, Sanremo, Seborga, and Vallebona.
